2012 Kruger Park Birding Weekend

Early Bird Call

Please be advised that bookings for our 2012 event will open on 15 June 2011 at 08h00.   We would like to afford everyone the same opportunity to book for the camp of their choice so any bookings sent earlier will be returned to guests for re-submission, or given time penalties. Requests are ordered according to the time stated on the gmail message, and are allocated in accordingly. 

Next year we are offering three weekends and the details are as follows:

*Bookings for Bataleur, Biyamiti, Shimuwini, Sirheni and Talamati must be for a minimum of 3 nights and must include Thursday.  Guests will be charged for Thursday night’s booking at the relevant SANParks rate.  Bush camps have 4-bed bungalows so bookings must be for a minimum of 4 guests, and thereafter in multiples of 4.

To assist you in selecting a camp we have included a list of birds by camp from the 2011 birding event here.

The cost of the event is R1800.00 per person for standard rest camps and R1950.00 for bush camps*. (Single supplement 20%) This includes two nights shared accommodation, two dinners and approximately 8 to12 hours bird viewing / game drives.  The drives are conducted on SANParks vehicles, and we cannot guarantee the vehicle size.

 We are happy to make bookings on your behalf for any additional nights required, either before or after the event, but at the same camp.  You will be charged at the relevant SANParks standard rate.  Pensioner rates do not apply. Simply complete the section on the booking form, giving as much detail as possible.  We kindly ask that you make your additional requirements known at this stage, as it is very difficult to secure additional bookings later.  It is strongly recommended that additional nights are booked for the northern camps, because of the travelling distance from Gauteng.  

Whilst every attempt will be made to place you in the camp of your choice, please note that this cannot be guaranteed.

The requested number of places will only be allocated, if the name and contact details of every prospective guest is stated on the form.  Remember to save the form and send it to us – do not simply reply to this email.
