Bird Lovers is a
website set up by the West Rand region of the South African National
Parks Honorary Rangers (SANParks HR's), and relates specifically to
their Birding events. 23 regions of HR's have been established throughout South Africa, which are manned entirely by volunteers to raise funds to support conservation projects in our National Parks. The West Rand region pioneered a birding event in Kruger Park in 1998, as a way of raising funds, which today has become one of the highlights on the South African birding calendar. Due to the success of our previous Beginner's Birding courses in Kruger Park in 2008 and 2009, we’ll be holding it once again this year at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens in October 2010. The change of venue is to enable participants be more "hands on", in the informal environment of the Gardens. As we did last year, it’ll be held in conjunction with BirdLifeSA. We will also be holding photographic safari weekends at Mapunguwbe, Golden Gate and Mokala in October 2010. Please click on the links above for more information on these events. |
